KatrinaDanny’s advice is good to follow. In the past I have had problems with cortef shortage so I requested another prescription to get ahead of the game. My endo, being well aware of the shortage, had no problem writing one. I am now 3 months ahead on cortef (although I did have to settle on 10mg rather than 5mg tablets this last time). My endo also said that it is not a problem to quarter as long as you use the same pill through the day and into the next morning if necessary. I have begun to skip my mail order pharamacy and simply call around town to see who could fill my daughter’s scripts for me. The price difference with my insurance is only around $1 per month supply. It has been a HUGE stress reliever for me to pay the extra $3 and not have to worry about getting by. GOOD LUCK to you, I know it’s a frustrating situation.
Love to all,
Kartina
