florinef for NSW necessary? AND immunizations

Hi everyone,

for those of you who remember me, I have a two year old and three months old girls. They both have NSW cah. They both have the same mutation and no virilization at birth. My older daughter is has been on cortef and floinef from the very beginning since her diagnosis at two months old but my younger one was not prescribed the florinef. We knew from DNA result that she has CAH so, she was immediately on cortef soon after birth and our endo just didn’t even think of giving her florinef.  I should be mentioning this to my endo on my next visit but my ques. is ...... will they be better off taking the florinef even is a nonsaltwaster????? I know that this topic has been discussed in detail before and most agreed that even NSW had some saltwasting tendencies and should take the forinef. What concerns me is that my three months old is underweight, smaller, feeds very little compared to my older child at same stage.  Perhaps they’re just really different, but could it be the florinef making the differences????? They are just sooooooooooooo different !!!!!!!

Also, in Korea immunization for Tuberculosis (BCG) is mandatory but my younger one hasn’t had it yet as the doctors were a bit concerned the side effects that could result since she is on steriods. In my older child’s case, she had the shot 2 weeks after birth while NOT on cortef so, it’s hard for me to know if there really is side effects. They are still contemplating over this and leaving it up to me.  The doctors are telling me if I’m leaving for the states any time soon, I should opt out on it, but the case is I will prob. be in Korea for another two years or so.  I think the risk of the side effects outweigh the benefits in this case as Tuberculosis is something real serious.  I’m confused. If anyone could offer advices?????
