According to the "Carbohydrate Addicts Diet" a breakfast heavy in carbohydrates forces your body to over produce insulin, which makes you extra hungry at the next meal. It also can make someone who is hpoglycemic, very cranky when all that insulin kicks in. I’ve been either avoiding breakfast or eating just eggs, and it seems to help avoid the minchies during the day. I hadn’t thought of it as having any effect on the kids, though. I usually alternate between grains (oatmeal, grits, etc.) and meat (sausage, bacon or ham) and eggs for their breakfast. I’ll have to see if there’s any noticable behavior difference on the days with different breakfasts.Danny Carlton
