Hi Jennifer,

I was very interested in your comment about your son "not being able to choose the right word to convey a thought or feeling".

I am an adult with CAH. Although there has never been any suggestion that I have  a learning difficulty, I have what I personally perceive to be ’a thorn in the flesh’ when it comes to articulating clearly. It is particularly evident to myself when I find I am unable to retrieve the appropriate word to communicate the weight of what I want to say at a given time. I find that I am better at writing, as I then have time to collect and clarify my thoughts. Verbally I can become very muddled.

It’s interesting! Who knows if it has anything to do with CAH. I often think that if one person has a problem in relation to a particular variable then that is an individual problem, but when many have a concomitent situation one has to start looking at the factors involved to see if there is a linkage.
