My son, Blake, is 12. He has SWCAH. Blake is quite chubby and has been since he was 3 months old. We have asked several Pediatric Endocrinologists about the weight issue and gotten vague answers from the seven different doctors we have seen at Children’s Hospital over the years. He is in the 5th percentile for height and 95th percentile for weight. The current doctor said that the chubbiness may disappear with puberty, but then reversed himself on a subsequent visit and told us to watch what he is eating. We do. The rest of us are thin, so genetically speaking we would expect him to be thin. He is also short, which we have been told is typical, although the rest of the family were late bloomers (growth wise), so Blake may catch up in his teens. Has anyone got an informed opinion on this weight issue? We live in the San Francisco area and would like to meet or talk to other CAH boys in his age group. We are always willing to talk to anyone who is new to the ordeal.Bill Davidson
