Hi Bill - I have a almost 10 yr. old son and we are always dealing with the weight issues also. He does seem to go through periods where is appetite increases, but it is not a constant problem. It just seems that whatever he eats,  goes right to his belly. My son has ALWAYS been in the 95th percentile for his weight too! He doesn’t actually overeat on a regular basis - his teenage sister eats sugar from morning to night and is thin as a rail. With her (Non-CAH), the ped has always tried to get me to give her milkshakes etc to put some weight on! Go figure - our ped endo’s feel that the CAH is a MILD contributor to the weight isse- however, I beg to differ!!! I think Danny has the right idea about the high protein breakfasts - I have followed that myself for a few years now and it does seem to work. Obviously, exercise,exercise,exercise... unfortunately my sonisn’t very energetic. Tires relatively easily and has little to stamina... all the while being very well contolled with relatively great numbers from all of his labs! The ped endo feels that his CAH is a MILD contributor to this also and once again.. I beg to differ. I think the weight issue is a common problem for most CAHers, I wish your son luck! Is he athletic and full of energy?
