KatrinaBill-
My 5 year old daughter is just the opposite of your son. She has SWCAH and is VERY thin. She is in the 5th percentile for height and weight. When she was 15 months old I was so concerned about her size (she wasn’t even on the charts then) that we went to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. We were told there that the way to "bulk" her up was to increase her salt intake and give her foods high in carbs. The endo made it very clear that we should not try to fatten her up with fatty foods because life long habits form and CAHers are very prone to being heavy due to the hormone replacement. So it would make sense that your son’s weight is a side effect of his meds. She has gained slowly over the past 3 1/2 years under the plan so I wonder if the opposite would also work. Low salt, low carb diet? Does anyone know?
Good Luck to You!
