You have an excellent attitude which I find helpful in dealing with CAH.  My son is a Severe Salt Waster and was very ill at birth.  He contracted group B strep which sent him into an adrenal crisis on about the 5th day.   The way we look at it is that the strep almost killed him yet it might have also saved his life due to the fact that he has CAH and I can’t guarantee that I would have picked up on the signs and symptoms if he crashed at home.  I already had a 14 month old at home who was doing anything she could to get my attention - including walking!!!  It’s the old "silver lining" story.

Speaking of looking at the positive, you were very lucky to have escaped an adrenal crisis during those first 18 months.  You must have been very healthy in that time frame.  Obviously your not a salt waster or you would have had real trouble much sooner.

I’m so glad that you have found this board and are willing to share your experiences with us.  I also enjoy the humorous way you look at things.  Thank you!(:>)
