SandraOk, someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe that it is about 13ng/ml is equal to 130ng/dl. This would still show him being oversuppressed. We need Carol and Luara and all those ladies in on this discussion! They are far more experienced with this than I am.
I’ll have to check the other posts again but I think you said that Dalton is a little one. I would suggest that you talk to your endo about his 17ohp being so low. I think I read somewhere, I’ll have to look it up, that it is preferable to keep the 17ohp more towards the higher end of the range than the lower. Really though I think most endo’s shoot for about 500ng/dl. So your little guy at 130ng/dl is low and would classify him as oversuppressed. Of course, I am NOT a doctor nor do I pretend to be one but I would call your endo and ask about this. The reason for keeping the 17ohp on the higher end is to prevent oversuppression and to keep the growth on the right track.
How much cortef is he on? How much florinef? The florinef can sometimes decrease the amount of cortef that is needed. They do this for some non saltwasters that are a little harder to control. Just as a reference, Jackson is on 3.75 mg Cortef total per day. He is almost 11months and weighs probably about 22 pounds now. Every kid is different so don’t expect Dalton to be on the same dose. This is just a reference for you. I know I am always interested in finding out about the doses that other kids are on.
Let us know what your endo says.
