Susan A.Actually the median age now is 12.8 years old. My mother was born in the 1920’s and got her period at the same age - 12 - so I tend to think age 16 is a little old to be the norm at the turn of the century. As for me with CAH - I too never did get my period - at age 16 went to the doctor to find out why - was put on birth control pills and had my first period - but as soon as I stopped taking them I never had another period again - until at age 19 I was diagnosed and put on Dexamethasone. Now I’m like clockwork - and am age 42.
