Shift breakfast and lunch to high protein, low carbohydrate, then get the carbohydrates at supper and make sure there’s plenty of fiber to accompany the carbohydrates. We switched from oatmeal, rice or grits for breakfast to eggs, and sausage or bacon. Not only has it reduced the munchies, it seems to have reduced the kids grouchiness, too.
