ShaunP.I only came across cortef when I came to the US. My son was on hydrocortone by Merke in the UK and France but I have seen a few UK posts that say they use cortef. We were able to get the hydrocortone here in the US from our local independent pharmacy. The large brand name pharmacies around here in NC(Eckerd, CVS, Kerr) do not carry hydrocortone and only have cortef through their supplier. They probably get a backhand given as a price cut to carry Upjohn cortef only.
I would not go with the cortisone acetate because the body has to actually convert it from the acetate product into cortisol so it is not very efficient. The impression I get about cortisone acetate is that it is the old treatment method. TC
