  I dont know if it would make a difference being male or not... But i have never been on a 4:00am dosing... Times of dosing were at 9:00am, 4:00pm and 12:00am. I was on Cortisone and Florinef till 18, Then i change to Prednisone 2 tablets  5mg  twice a day and Florinef 1 tablet  0.01mg  twice a day. I am now 26yrs old and am doing fine on this dosage... I see my Endo every 6mths and have regular Bone Density tests done.  I dont know if this helps or not. Please write me back if the information is of any use or not...
