Danny CarltonI gave Mr. Angier a call and explained why many CAH people are reticent about participating in any "news" shows. We talked awhile and he explained that the program is in a series on women’s health and this particular episode would focus on hormones and the female brain. Since CAH offers one of the only natural ways of observing the cognitive and affective effects of hormones on the female brain, they of course wanted to try to talk with some teen and adult females with CAH.
I told him that I’d do some research on the people that are involved in the program so that you all can at least make a little more informed decision about whether to participate.
Host: Nancy Sniderman
From Dr. Koop.com: "Dr. Snyderman is a medical correspondent for ABC and can be seen on Good Morning America and Prime Time Live. Dr. Snyderman writes a monthly column for Good Housekeeping. Dr. Snyderman is an associate clinical professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center and the University of California-San Francisco. She served as the director of the Division of the Head and Neck Surgery for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and received her Otolaryngology training at the Eye and Ear Hospital, University of Pittsburgh." She has a column at DrKoop.com which includes an archive of her previous columns and articles. Reading through them should give you an idea of how she treats the various subjects she covers
Here’s her bio and columns at Yahoo! Health.
Here’s the transcript of an online chat she participated in about Post Partum Depression.
Producer: Joe Angier
Co-wrote the PBS Special The Great War and the Shaping of the Twentieth Century.
Co-produced the KCET presentation of the controversial PBS Point Of View documentary Stop The Church. He didn’t have anything to do with the production of the documentary itself (as far as I could tell), but co-produced KCET’s "wrap around" discussion which extended the 24 minute documentary to a full hour. (Of course I’m assuming this is the same Joe Angier)
The other producers, Dianne Petzke and Sue Levit, as well as the Executive Producer, Carol Bercvuk, I could only find trivial info on if any.
