I find it odd, too, that she would experience the weight gain and moon face BEFORE being diagnosed and taking the steriods. Normally that is a sign of over-suppression (too much steroid). My daughter, now 13, was diagnosed at the age of 3 and is also a non salt-waster. If your daughter truly has CAH, don’t let the term non salt-waster fool you. My daughter, on a normal day-to-day basis, does not lose an excessive amount of salt. However, heat is a HUGE stressor for her and she does perspire easily and loses a great deal more salt than normal in the heat - and when she is sick. We have learned over the years to compensate with the meds when she plays summer sports, etc. I believe, like I have seen others post on this site, that non salt-wasters can/do lose more salt than normal at times. I have seen it myself in Kristin.Kay
