I’ve since learned that this may be what’s called manic/depressive, but in a very mild form, or maybe not. The bottom line is depression is a person’s reaction to stimuli, whether that stimuli is circumstances of hormones, the reaction is still under the control of the person.

Danny, no offense but manic-depression is the result of out of whack chems produced in and by the brain.  It is not something that can be fixed by simply making up your mind to not be.  It’s a serious problem that affects thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people.  It is easily controlled through psychotropic drugs and not simply willpower.  If it were as simple and easy as that, everyone would be in their nirvana every day.
