re: Rate of growth while on Lupron?

Kristin took Lupron frm the time she was 5 until last summer when she was almost 13.  She was diagnosed with precocious puberty, secondary to her CAH (non salt wasting).  When she started the Lupron she was on liquid Cortef and florinef - eventually changed to Cortef tabs  and florinef - and later to hydrocortone and florinef.  I understand hydrocortone is the same drug, just a different manufacturer.  When we switched to pill form it was simply because it was easier.  While not a salt waster, Kristin took florinef to help the Cortef/hydrocortone work better to control bone age.  He bone age was still advanced when we started the Lupron.  At age 5 I think  her bone age was something like 9 yrs.  We slowed it down dramatically until we were able to keep her bone age on target with her chronological age.  When she stopped taking Lupron she was almost 13 and her bone age tested at 13 yrs 6 months.  She was about 5’ 1/2" tall when we stopped it.  She has been off lupron for one year this month and she is 5’2" tall now.  That is good considering I am just over 5 ft myself and her dad is only 5’8".    When we started, Kristin was taking cortef 3 times a day and eventually we reduced to twice a day.  I hope this info helps!
