Hi all again - at my endo appt today my doc went over with me the results of my bone density test that I had done 2 weeks ago. This is the third scan I have had - one a year. On last year’s dexascan I had lost 7% of my bone mass in my right hip in one year - my endo freaked and got me right away on Fosamax - once a week. Well - the good news (we also lowered my dose of Dex) is that with help from the Fosamax my body has rebuilt all the bone that it lost! My endo said to go ahead and quit taking the Fosamax and he will still do yearly bone density tests. I’m 42 and still have regular periods - he’s happy about that because it gives my bones the estrogen that they need.
