My 10 yr old SW-CAH son got the chicken pox when he was 2 1/2 yrs old. It was totaly uneventful! If I remember correctly, he had a  low-grade fever for one day, in which we stressed dosed for. After that, he was good too go! I kept him ( and my daugher who had come down with them about 4 weeks before him!) on Benedryl the whole time - that really helped with the itching! Several of my friends have tried that and agreed it was most beneficial. Good Luck!
