I have a 2 1/2 year old son with CAH!

Your situation sounds very familiar to mine!

At 2 1/2 weeks he wasn’t gaining weight.

The doctor changed his formula.

Then he quit eating all together for me.  He was admitted to the local children’s hosptital immediately!  His doctor said pack you bags and head to children’s. Hosp.

They had all kinds of specialists come in!  Fianally the bloodwork came in.

They rushed him to ICU.  They diagosed him with CAH.  His pottasium and sodium was out of wack!  He was very sick for a couple days!  Mean while the hosp where he was born said his PKU test came back.  He needed to be tested again!  Well it was too late!  The poor baby had gone into adrenal crisiis!  It was vey touch and go for a couple days!  I remember how over whelmed i felt.  My son is doing very well now!   He is a true blessing.  We live everyday to the fullist and run a very normal household!  He takes his meds well!  We have given him the injection twice!

Once was the flu and one was he fallen into our end table and cut his lip and chin!

If you have any questions i would be glad to help!  All though i’m learning too!

My email adrress is lyngary@hotmail.com
