Help Help Help with genetic testing!!!!!!!!! Urgent!!

Okay folks,
I need some expertise here.  Here is my situation- My test for LOCAH came back positive and I am in the two week wait after IVF to see if I am pregnant.  Now, I know if I am pregnant I will have to receive treatment by 4th week of pregnancy so that my LOCAH does not affect baby.  However, both DH and I need to have genetic testing to determine exactly what mutations of the gene I carry- and if he carries any at all- then if we both do we have to see a genetic counselor.  My question is- if we both carry mutations of the gene, what will genetic couseling do for us and what treatment will I need and specifically WHEN will I need to have it?  At what week of pregnancy will I need to start whatever those treatments are?

I am freaking out a bit becuase I have spent the past week and a half orchestrating who will do this genetic testing- yes I am having it done at Cornell.  However, I need to have the blood drawn locally and sent to them which seems to need a magician to pull off.  I finally got the genetist office to agree to tell my GP what script to write and how to fill out Cornells paperwork so that I could go to a lab and get blood drawn.  My RE would not write script or draw blood and my GP does not draw blood.  So I went to my local Quest Lab (who by the way took a MONTH to get my test results for LOCAH back!) and they refused to draw blood to send to Cornell saying it was against their policies to send it to another lab.  When I called their client services line they told me they can’t charge for it so won’t do it.  When I called my GP’s office they said if they were to draw the blood (which they don’t do) they would only be able to send to Quest.  So...is my only choice to go directly to Cornell to have the blood drawn?

I am freaked becuase if I have to go to Cornell then I can’t go until Friday (assuming they have an appt for us)  and If I’m pregnant I will already be 2 weeks by then and wouldnt have the results until 4 weeks or so and then is that too late to start treatment???

Thanks for letting me rant and PLEASE let me know any answers you might have!
