JenniHi Danny
Ditto here with our CAHer. Grace has gagged since birth and after suggesting to our Endo that it may have something to do with the meds, he insisted that there was no reason that they would be associated with each other. I am almost positive that she had refux as a baby due to the harshness of the medication on her stomach, and as a result this has made her gag reflex very very sensitive. She is now 3 years old and we are aware of certain foods that will make her gag almost instantly, and we have found that having a cup of water within reach whilst she is eating has helped a lot because she can feel herself about to gag and will stop and have a drink of water. This seems to make all the difference. It is interesting that your other CAH child doesn’t have the same gag reflex (luckily) so I guess it proves a point that maybe it is not CAH related and it is just that some people gag more easily than others. We have 1 out of 3 children with CAH, but you are in a position to compare 2 CAH children and maybe realise that not everything they get or have trouble with is necessarily CAH related.
