You sure it’s not something like a sensitive nose.  The other day I was putting some real seaweed out in the garden and nearly died/refluxed/puked from the smell.  It must have taken me a good 30 minutes to get over.  I’ve always been that way even on the sight of that stuff, even cleaning the litter box makes me gag.
