Initially I wanted CongenitalAdrenalHyperplasia.com, but it was taken, but it wasn’t being used. When it expired and became availabel I grabbed it as well as CongentialAdrenalHyperplasia.net. They only cost me about $8 apiece, so it wasn’t very expensive.

I got Phenylketonuria.org for a URL for the new board, but thought that it would be nice to have a general URL to link boards and sites for various rare diseases together. I accidentally typed in raredisease.org rather than rarediseases.org when trying to to the NORD site, and discovered that there is no site for raredisease.org. I grabbed it, and since I have an unlimited number of third level domains on any second level I won, I created cah.raredisease.org for this site and pku.raredisease.org for the pku message board. In the future, if I do any other boards (or sites) for other diseases, I can just use that rather than having to get a new domain name.
