I had to take the dex the entire pregnancy or there would have been need for surgery - wouldn’t there be exposure of excessive androgen in the last months and then all the months you took it for have been for nothing? At the least - the clitoris would enlarge. You might have prevented a nrrow vaginal opening but is it.  Your doctor should contact directly Dr. Maria New about a consult on your case. She has done the most prenatal Dex treatments in the country, if not the world. She can advise your doctor exactly how much to give you and what issues to look out for. She does require that all consults be done in writing, so he/she can email or fax a request to her office. She does these consults a lot and I just sent another family to her for the same reason last week. Two or more months with excessive androgens (male hormones)... what are they thinking!! That would like stopping treatment of a CAH child for a few months!!

I know dex treatment is a personal thing but you took it for so long to stop short without expert advice.  Don’t trust your OB or ped endo, ask Dr. Maria New.
