It is tissue that forms in other parts of the body such as the gonads whenever there is an over exposure to androgens.  So when there is an over production of hormones in the adrenals, the tissue in the rest of the body produces also.  All boys with CAH would be quite open to having those side-effects.  (It alarms me that they "think" it’s ok for them to be exposed in utero after knowing this stuff actually--but nevermind) when they are over producing the androgens.  Their levels are much higher than girls anyway I suppose.  I think it could no doubt happen for girls also with CAH---dunno--from what I have read it can have an impact on fertility later for men with CAH.  Not good.  When are they going to realise that too much of anything ain’t good for either sex really? I mean if it causes PCOS in girls, it has to affect boys in some way also.

They can’t pick this up without ultrasound, but can they pick up adrenal growths with physical exams is what I was wondering.  Surely there would be some enlargment or swelling?

It’s your worse nightmare actually.
