Fear no more! There is a wonderful little cream on the market called EMLA (prescription if you are in the USA, over-the-counter if you live in Canada, I believe) that you put on the site one hour prior to having blood taken. You will not feel a THING! I’ve used this on my 4 yr old daughter for years, with no problems, and even gave some to our 17 yr old babysitter who needed a batch of blood draws and was deathly afraid of needles ..... worked like a charm!
