Hi Tip’s mom,JanetDFirst, congratulations on your new daughter! Both of my daughters (1 CAH, 1 non-CAH) join my family through adoption. A great way to build a family!
First of all, headaches in a 4-year-old is NOT common. (let alone 5 days in a row!). In the past some of the teen/adults with CAH have reported that when they need extra medication, then sometimes the symptom is a headach.
I have a 4-year-old nephew who is being checked over because of headaches. What his pediatrican did was to make sure it wasn’t sinus (big issue here in the summer). A week ago he was at the ped-nurologists for a check-up. The next step is a scan of the head, just to make sure there is nothing going on up there!
If I was in you shoes, I would add the step of having your daughter’s blood levels checked -- all of them. I think I would also be doing a close monitor of her blood pressure. High blood pressure can cause headaches. And, at least with the 11-beta form, hypertension is something that needs to be watched for.
Hopefully other’s will have some additional ideas for you.
Please let us know what the outcome is.
Best Regards,
Janet
