i would think that the reason that you might want to do something is just to make sure your daughter is or is not a carrier of the gene.  i wouldn’t think that should would have the disorder, if she has a different parent.  but i still believe that it is important for her to know if she is a carrier of the gene.  just look you had a child that had cah (what did you think the odds of that where, you probably didn’t even know what it was)  i know that i have urged all of my family members to be checked (genetically) to see if they are carriers.  that way if they are they will be more prepared than if they never knew.
