re: 2 + months old SWCAH female temperament

At that time in the evening and about the age that your daughter is, is the time when colic can begin.  My daughter had colic when she was born and it was quite distressing as there was very little that we could do about it.  I would say if she is happy in the mornings, and goo goo, ga ga then it will more than likely be colic and it may last until she is about 3-4 months old.

I do empathise with you if it is this.  Sometimes I would be crawling the walls with my Daughter, but at 3 months of age, it just stopped, almost like a light switch being turned off.

If you are breastfeeding make sure she is not taking in air when she sucks.  if she is bottle fed, look at anti-colic teats as a solution.  We bought AVENT bottle fedding system for Chloë and this helped a great deal because the teats are shaped more like a nipple and have anti-colic valves.

Also I bought a special drink for babies with chamomile in it which I swore by at the time.  It would help to settle her, when prior to this she would be screaming from 6pm to 12-am-1am.  Very, very frustrating as no matter what you do for them, they scream and scream and it comes and goes in spasms so they stop crying briefly and then start again shortly after.  We did everything and nothing seemed to sooth her at that time.    They typically draw their legs up as they are literally getting gripey pains in their tummy’s.  Also peppermint in a drink is another good thing for settling tummies.  You may have to see an homeopathist if this is what it is.  All that screaming and pain is bound to be making her adrenals work overtime.  Often a bath relaxes a baby at that time in the evening also with a drop of lavendar oil or two.
