ValerieDCAH affects our family through our 10 yr old son whom is SW. However, we also have a 14 year old, Non-CAH daughter, who had colic, and may I say - I know what you are going through!!! I remember getting so upset because some folks think that a baby who cries for an hour or so has colic, WRONG!!! I recall my daughter would start at EXACTLY 4 pm, like clock work!! She would be fine at 3:59 and then, boom... the clock would chime 4 and then she would start. It literally would go on and on for up to 5-6 hours, until like your daughter, she would finally just "pass out" from exhaustion! Unless you have had a child whom truly suffered from colic, people tend to think that you are exaggerating! All of sudden she would be screaming her head off and then just go to sleep. We tried everything to no avail. That was the worst part of the phase and lasted about 4 weeks, then each night it got a little less and was just about all gone at 5 months! I thought I would go absolutely crazy and my husband was working 12 hour days and I had no family support whatsoever! I had one girlfriend who felt so bad for me ( and she didn’t even have any children! God love her!) who came over every night to help me out! She was my saving grace and I owe her big time!!! My only advice, Hang on! It will pass, but I know how difficult it can be. I have no idea if your daughter is exhibiting any symptoms that necessarily pertain to her CAH, but just thought I would share a colic story of my non-CAH child. Let us know how you are making out.
