Generally being more active will naturally lower cholesterol.  Take up walking and do this at least three times per week for more than 30 minutes each session.  You need to do that briskly enough to raise your heart rate enough to burn off cholesterol so do some research into hwat you heart beats per minute should be to achieve this.   Start off slowly and build up.  Stop if you are feeling tired or out of breath.  When walking head out from home for 15 minutes and then you can head back.  Don’t take on more than you can do or this will turn you off and you will not stick with it.  On rainy miserable days turn on some music and dance around the lounge or do some other indoor activity.  I have a cardio glide machine I can use.  Make sure that your hormone levels are well catered for before embarking on really strenuous workouts though.

Take an omega 3 supplement or Cod Liver oil.  there is another product out thats new on the market called CLA (conjugated linoleic acid which will help to lower cholesterol.  You can buy those over the counter.  The following links have diets that will lower cholesterol and also information about what high cholesterol can cause etc.
