re: exaggerated 17 ohp levels

A confirmed diagnaosis of 21-OH deficiency or CAH is documented by a 17-OH progesterone level >200 nmol/L; normal is <10 nmol/L in infants

I can remember my daughter 17-OHP being in 20,000 range because the doctor thought it was okay to just test every 6 months .... and this was a newborn baby!! They are growing... I should have had her tested every month because the levels were over of control.  Jessica died from adrenal crisis at age 2... the levels were NEVER managed right!!

Now looking back at it... with a level that high... I wish that I would have found a good ped endo that knew what they were doing!! Tested at least once a month (if not every 10 days) . Not just give a little more of the liquid cortef (that was later recalled for not working) and I’ll see you in a a few months!!

20,000 range - I would be in the hospital with the BEST doctor in the STATES!! I would fly to Austrailian if that were the best doctors were.. if I only could!!
