my husband has never had a crisis, knock on wood.  he has sw(intron2), and a sv(exxon 4)  mutation. as i am sure you know, that the least severe is dominant.  you know they didn’t know as much about cah years ago, they have only had the classifications of cah in the past 20 yrs.  they have found out that taking prednisione while in puberty stunts your growth.  and like many other endos they try and make the 17ohp be that of a normal person. (when they should be a little higher) so i believe that my husband was always treated based on his numbers and been over suppressed when actually he does just as well if not better on a lower dose of med.

my sons last 17ohp was 192, we are going to cornell.  they told us that they like to keep the numbers somewhere between 300-1000. (on or off meds)

is your son a svcah? my husbands sister also has cah
