Hi,

the use-by date is to warn you that the product is not as potent as it should be. It is like a packet of biscuits that are near their use by date are not as fresh as a new batch. It shouldn’t have bacteria in it unless it was accidently opened. The expiry date is usually the ned of the month that is stated eg 08/02 would mean August 31 2002. However if it were me I would be getting a new one at the beginning of August and not waiting until the end of the month.
