I don’t think that I would use expired Solu-Cortef. Some medications (certain strains of penicillian, for example) actually become toxic when they are too old, and although I don’t believe this is the case with this particular medication, it would definately be hard to estimate how much to give, if nothing else. We check our supply periodically, and if I know that it will be expiring within a few months, I’ll write it on my calendar, and make sure to start the whole process (giving plenty of time to get a prescription, and making sure that the drugstore can get it to me on time!) at least a month before it actually expires. Yeah, could just be super-paranoid me again, but I’m not taking any chances! God’s blessings.
