I have recently required a new batch of Solu Cortef, it is made in the UK and on the instructions it says to discard after the expiry date, does not say why.

The batch appears to last for four years, i am usualy  up to date with the medications but as i had it in the medicine tin, never really checked the dates, it was only with the prompting of checking on this site that i looked at it. It has been four years since i last used it as my daughter had a febrile convulsion and i gave her the injection as i was told when she was born that it was better to give her the injection than to doubt. One pediatrician told me that it had  not been  necessary to give her the injection even though she had a temp of 39c.
