AdinaHBill,
Boy am I jealous. You don’t know how lucky you are that you’re in the state that invented Blue Bell ice cream. They just don’t make ice cream like that anywhere else in the nation. Ben and Jerry don’t even hold a candle to them.
Kelly at the CARES Foundation has a list of doctors in that area, she mentioned one in particular to me several months ago when we thought about traveling to visit my parents in the Flower Mound/Lewisville area. It was a woman and I can’t for the life of me remember her name. Give Kelly and the CARES foundation a call toll free at 1-866-CARES37 and she can give you some ideas.
From what I heard there were quite a few endocrinologists at the Houston Workshop... there were several people from this board in attendance, so I’d send out a new posting so it will be at the top of the board with "to parents who attended the Tx workshop" under the subject area and you might catch a few more responses.
If you’re really feeling zippy you can contact Dr. Maria New’s office in NY. She allows patients to FedEx their bloodwork. You have to have your kids pediatrician fax their normal stats though on a regular basis as well (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.) This works out for us just fine, even though our local endocrinologist is fabulous also. Its always good to have a second opinion whenever you’re in doubt, no matter how tiny the doubt may be.
Blessings,
Adina
