Illness problems when traveling?

Hi,

I’m Christina and I’m 18.  I found out I had CAH when I was about 10 days old and have lived with it ever since.  I’m salt-wasting and the more severe form of CAH.

My main question is if anyone has had any problems (nausea, vomitting, extreme diarrhea) when traveling?

When I was little I always got extremely sick and sometimes had to go to the hospital not more than 2 or 3 days into the trip. My mom and I finally put two and two together and realized that a change in the water was the culprit.  I have never heard from our doctor that it was a problem with CAH patients.  But since I have become aware of the change in water, I drink either boiled water or bottled water and have stopped getting sick on trips.  I also realized I couldn’t even have the ice in most restaurants because it was made from the local city water.

So I was just wondering if anyone else with CAH noticed these types of problems with water when traveling?

Thanks,

Christina
