Pregnancy, dex and anorexia

I am a Swedish mother of two wonderful children, a non-CAH two-year old daughter and a little boy who was born six months ago and is a saltwaster CAH. My husband and I would like to have at least one more child (not whithin the nearest future, though) and I understand I have to take dexametazone to minimize the risk of virilization should our next child be a girl with CAH.

It might seem a bit stupid, but I am really concerned about the risk of gaining a lot of weight while taking dex. I have had eating disorders and am still slightly anorectic, even though I have learned to live normal life with my problems. Pregnancies have been a bit tough for me because of this, but I’m proud that I have been able to go through two pregnancies and let go of my rigid weight control.

But the dex-thing worries me. Is there anyone who has been in the same situation? Is weight-gaining a big problem while taking dex? Or is it possible to take dex without gaining a lot of extra weight during pregnancy?

I’m thankful for any input I can get. And of course I’m willing to go through it all if it is important fot my child. But still, it is a real problem.
