Cortef in powder form
Aug. 26th, 2002   11:48am

I’m posting this as a separate thread so as to not confuse the issue. My daughter’s dose is 2mg/1mg/2mg cortef. She was thus far on suspension so it was easy to just measure out the liquid in the syringe. We are going overseas for about three months and it is just not practical with the suspension. So the pharmacy agreed to make powder packets of individual doses measured accurately and I can just mix it in water or juice and give it to her.

My question is has anyone used this method before and is it a reliable method. The pharmacist packs it in medicine paper which is like wax paper and I manage to get it all on the spoon. I cannot use the pill as it is because of the dosage. He says not to use the capsule as it is hard to get all of it out from the capsule.

thanks
