Anne-MarieThe other thing I should mention is you can basically tell from the symptoms when they are getting TOO much steroid or not enough.
The best way to remember this is:
Higher cortisol levels--->most likely higher temp--->Most likely higher blood pressure--->higher glucose levels (hyperglycemia)--->more appetite--->longterm more body fat and facial swelling.
Lower cortisol levels--->lower temp--->lower blood pressure--->lower glucose levels (hypoglycemia)--->less appetite---longterm less body fat and facial swelling.
If you note it on that wavelength what sis low leads to low everything else and vice versa with the high scenario. that is how I think of things anyway and it helps to decide whether Ashley needs more cortisol and is sick but no temp.
