My daughter unfortunately has been treated a number of times for adrenal crisis and I know the "signs". I know the headaches,  vomitting and diahrea and the high fevers and all for something as simple as an ear infection, the flu, a stomach virus... She even had a severe attack with blood in the stool from an intasusecption(?) at age one so I know the deal here with the meds and the replacement cortisol thing.  And I KNOW the shots!  I wanted to clarify that I do understand all that is being explained on this thread...

Her issue is not that we are "waiting for the endo or labs to make a decision"... We are making decisions daily with her : We give Tylenol or Ibuprofen when she has a low grade fever such as 99 and 100 and if she in fact has a true illness we give additional cortef.   The only diagnosis we have at all regarding this "illness" is viral.  She was treated as a precaution with antibiotics a couple weeks ago but the pedo sees no reason to repeat because she shows no bacterial infections at this time.  There is OBVIOUSLY something going on but no word as to what that is.   The question??? Does it really warrant additional meds???

Please note that she is attending school, is playing sports, she swims and is an active girl scout.  She is living her daily life as though she is truly healthy.  She just has a little fever and doesnt feel good. 

I am however concerned about just that.  That she has that fever, doesnt feel good and no one even knows why.  That fine grey line between endo and pedo is as grey as ever. Who treats this?  Endo or Pedo?  Both?  Our endo has given us explicit instructions to let Pedo take care of her as a "normal child" with "normal illnesses" and he will be involved with respect to adrenal issues.  Is this an adrenal issue?  She isnt vomitting, no more diahrea, her fever is low enough not to give her double meds.  So what then?  I am so frustrated!

By the way... Her normal dose is 7.5mg in the a.m. and 10mg at bedtime.  Now we changed it to 7.5 in the a.m.,  5mg after school and 5mg at bedtime.
