ValerieDJust for interest, our school nurse mentioned something to me that I had never known. She said in the event of field trips, that it is the law in every state, that if a child (with a med condition wheresas a "med kit" must accompany the child) is going on a field trip and a parent cannot go, that the school-nurse/teacher has to go with the child. I asked, because they had given me notice of an upcoming field trip (as my husband or I had gone on every single one!) and it would be impossible for either of us to attend this time. The nurse that she would have to because it was the law that no child would discrimanated against by not being allowed to go. I had planned on sending my sister in my place, but I decided to let the school nurse accompany him instead. I asked if this was just in our school system and she said, "No, that is a law that is implemented in every state to protect children from discrimanation." So, in case this situation happens to any of you, check with your school department.
