Our urologist told us the same thing about our daughter not urinating with her legs open all the way.  He tried to say she wasn’t emptying her bladder all the way and she needed to turn around and sit backwards.  Ya ya ya....   After months and months (almost 2 yrs) of urine backflow (causing odor, leakage and severe pelvic pain) we sought a second opinion.  After much consideration and testing it was found that the urethera was on the underside, much like hypospadias is a male.  She had a uretheral reconstruction in February at Cornell Medical in NYC and guess what?  No more pain, no more infections, no more leakage and no more odor!  She is one happy nine year old now!
