Hi everyone,

Thanks for responding.  Actually she is 9 months now and will only get the shot after she turns a year old. I guess there is so much hype about the MMR and Varicella vaccine and both being live viruses I was wondering what a stress dose might do. I’ve actually tried her earlier vaccines with and without the stress dose.  She got the fever once and other time did not. So I wonder if the stress dose before the shot had anything to do with it. The reason I am so worried is we will be out of the country at that time and I feel that instead of waiting to come back to the US and then give her the shot I should go ahead and give her the shots abroad.  I don’t have a problem there. However I’m just concerend how she might react to the shots and that is making me wonder if indeed I should wait to come back to the US. On the other hand, I am risking exposing her to actual disease abroad versus dealing with side effects of an attenuated virus.  That’s why I wanted to know if CAH children react differently to MMR and Varicella vaccines !

I’m the queen of paranoia and generally drive myself and everyone around me nuts with these doubts, so my apologies !

Thanks,

SueG
