Prescriptions

I live in Atlanta and I think that I have expressed my dislike for the endocrinologist in Buckhead in the past. Well, today just confirmed my feelings for these doctors. Getting prescriptions refilled is almost just like pulling teeth. The nurse that called me today after I have been calling for 2 weeks to get my 5 month old son’s Florinef refilled. I never wait until the last minute but when I think I am getting close to the end of the bottle I usually call. Well, she called to tell me that even after the two weeks that I have been leaving message after message that the doctor will not refill it. I am in between doctors right now and they know that I am changing. But, since I don’t have the initial visit until October 2nd the new doctor will not prescribe any medication until he has seen him. That part I understand, but these idiots in Atlanta actually told me that I could not get a refill. And I got no explanation as to why this decision had been made. I finally got so upset on the phone that the ignorant nurse finally put the doctor on the phone. Why should I have to explain to a DOCTOR that he HAS to have this medicine? Finally I called the new doctor hysterical and he prescribed the medicine since he also works hand in hand with my son’s pediatrician. I was so angry and it’s not at all like me to get that way. I just don’t understand how the doctor could just treat this situation so lightly when he knows what is going on. I am just so glad that I found this new doctor and he’s local in Peachtree City. Cameron hasn’t been sick in a while but he didn’t get his Florinef for three days because I was battling these people. I just didn’t know what to do. I know that he has to have it but if you are in a situation like that and you can’t get the refill what do you do? I had thought this morning whenever I woke up that I would take him to the ER if I didn’t hear from them today. But, my mind went blank that’s all I could think to do. Sorry guys I’m just venting. I haven’t been that angry in a long time.
