Anne-MarieI can understand where he is coming from. Why should anyone who has a child with any ongoing condition that is over and above whatever other normal healthy children have, have to pay anything towards their medical costs for that condition? I was only reflecting upon this this week when I had the blow out with the pharmacist. I only pay $6.00 per three monthly for his med’s and travel to the Hospital three monthly, and also some occasional extra Dr’s visits, but nevertheless it is there, and the cost is not something that others have to find at all. Yet there is no where on the planet (apart from the UK up to aged 16 yrs ) that a child is totally excempt when they have such a medical condtion where costs are concerned that I know of.
Why should any parent have to pay one penny towards such costs given that it is not their fault that they have a child who needs such. We don’t exactly have a choice do we as to whether we want to take on such a responsibility. It was something unfortunate. Yet it seems we have to pay the price---bottom line.
