There are no alternative treatments to hydrocortisone where replacement is concerned.  However, there are alternatives in the way that you dose the hydrocortisone that are opposed to the conventional way of dosing.  The synthetic Hydrocortisone that our children take is the nearest they can get to cortisol produced by the adrenals.  That is why when it is not controlled properly all the side effects apply. 

I wasn’t aware of any alternative or holistic ways of treating CAH.  Since it is down to an impairment or missing enzyme, no holistic therapy could make the adrenals manufacture cortisol really.  In fact some may cause extra stress for the child and make the situation worse where androgens are concerned possibly?
