Hi, I have a twenty year old son Jeremy, with (SWCAH) and over the years we have had some problems with prescriptions.  He used to take Cortef and the pills are white.  Once we got home and they had given me a different pill.  I noticed that the drug company name that is printed on the pill was different.  This was when my son was eight and he usually got his medication himself.  Luckily I looked at the pills and I usually count them because there has been times we were extremly shorted. Anyhow, I called the pharmacy to tell them they gave me the wrong medication, turned out it was a heart medication.  The pharmacy acted like it was not big deal.  I asked them to bring me the correct medication and at first they did not want to.  I reminded them that at that time I would go directly to the State Pharmaceutical board and report them.  Needless to say they came over in the rain and brought me the correct prescription.  After that I never used that pharmacy again.  Just as a reminder always look at your pills.

On another note, my son who is now twenty and on his own.  He had a pretty averge life growing up and only a few emergencies.  I worry about him all the time, especially now that he does not have insurance and I can’t cover him on mine.  Does anyone know of any services available that will help us to get his medication for free of charge or for a reduced rate?  Some will not because he takes Medrol and it is a steroid. I worry that he is not taking his medication correctly.

He also takes Foxamas because he has developed oesteoporosis of the spine due to taking such a large amount of steroids all of his life.

I would like to hear from anyone that would like to share. Thanks.
